Author and Illustrator of over 30 children’s books including “Bernard’s Bath”, “Ballet Bunnies”, and “Beyond the Sea of Ice: The Four Voyages of Henry Hudson”

Goodman got her BFA in Painting at the Pratt Institute, and Studied at L’Academia di Belli Arti, in Rome. She is a member several important artist associations including COSPA (The Connecticut Society of Portrait Artists), The Fairfield County Art Association. She is represented by the Fairfield Women’s Exchange in Connecticut. She has been in numerous group shows including: The CCCP Gallery’s “Invitational”, The Connecticut Society of Portrait Artists Juried Shows “Faces of Winter” and “Faces of Spring.”

Goodman, whose work focuses on children and family portraits, describes the intention of her work as “my portraiture in pencil and in oil endeavor to capture the ephemeral nature of childhood and enduring beauty and unique character of each child.”

Goodman creates each portrait with her clients, she bases her portraits of children on a mutually agreed upon photograph. For Adults a portrait may be based on two or three ‘sittings’ at the convenience of both the artist and patron. Reference photos will be taken in order for the work to continue on the portrait without the sitter. Or, the Portrait maybe based on a mutually agreed upon photograph. For both adult and children’s portraits the artist will submit a rough black and white sketch showing the size and positioning for the clients approval before continuing with the finished portrait.
